About Us
Mahima Ministries was founded in 2005 by RD Maharaju with the mission of caring for widows and orphans in their distress. In recent years, the focus has increasingly shifted toward elder care. The initiative to start the Ilapur Care Home was motivated by the desire to use Mahima’s property in Ilapur Thanda to provide high quality, paid elder care. As the Hyderabad metro area is growing at such a rapid pace and families increasingly feature two career adults, the shortage of elder care becomes more evident. The Ilapur Care Home aims to provide quality care with a distinctly human touch. The semi-private rooms try to balance one’s needs for privacy with the practical need for community living. We aim our care to be a good value economically, though we realize it will not be affordable for all.
Our Team
John and Jyothi Douglas are starting a second career as directors of the Ilapur Care Home. Their experience as teachers, community development workers, and senior organizational leaders gives them an ideal mix of management skills and inspirational leadership
